HELLO TO EVERYONE!

Dear students of 14th level.

Our homework for this week will be:

1. Continue working on voScreen until scene 60th in the section of voStructure of MODALS.

2. I was wondering if you could start preparing the first parts of the monologue. Working  in these steps 1-5 of writing a monologue. They are highlighted in yellow.

It is a speech presented by a single character, most often to express their mental thoughts aloud, though sometimes also to directly address another character or the audience. Monologues are common across the range of dramatic media (playsfilms, etc.), as well as in non-dramatic media such as poetry.

How to write a monologue

  1. Decide your topic.
  2. Decide the perspective of the monologue.
  3. Determine the purpose of the monologue.
  4. Decide who will be addressed in the monologue.
  5. Search for information to support your ideas.
  6. Consider the beginning, middle, and end of the monologue.
  7. Read other monologues.
  8. Start the monologue with a hook.
  9. Use your character’s voice and language.
  10. Allow your character to reflect on the past and the present.
  11. Add description and detail.
  12. Have a button ending.
  13. Read the monologue out loud.
  14. Have an actor perform the monologue for you.
3. Bring to the next class some colored sheet papers, images related to education, glue, scissors.

4. Finally, this is for those students that actually do not know what kind of learning style they have got. So, please enter to this link and apply a quiz,in order to discover your learning style.

Phrasal Verbs/ 1st Theme

1. Look at this video.

2. Read the information.

Phrasal Verbs

Phrasal verbs are mainly used in spoken English and informal texts. (The more formal a conversation or text, the less phrasal verbs are found.)
Phrasal verbs consist of a verb plus a particle (prepositionadverb). The particle can change the meaning of the verb completely, e.g.:
§  look up – consult a reference book (look a word up in a dictionary)
§  look for – seek (look for her ring)
§  look forward – anticipate with pleasure (look forward to meeting someone)
There are no rules that might explain how phrasal verbs are formed correctly - all you can do is look them up in a good dictionary and study their meanings. In our lists, you will find some frequently used phrasal verbs and their meanings.

3. Visit the web voScreen and follow the instructions.

1.   Create your account in this web.

   2. Being inside, go to the upper left size of the display and give a click where it says "life". On the column of voStructure select the option Phrasal Verbs.
After that, the scenes will start appearing, so listen carefully and try to catch the information selecting the correct traslation in Spanish.

4. Deliver a list.

Open this format and follow the instructions.
